After many of years of seeing fantasy maps that make no sense in terms of real climate/geography I have decided to write a short tutorial on how to make a logical fantasy world.
You say but its fantasy anything can happen. Yes it can. If some evil wizard blasts the equivalent of the Amazon you'll get a desert where one shouldn't be, for a while. But unless he's going to permanently change weather patterns or sterilize the soil over a thousand years the jungle will come back. While yes miraculous things can happen in a fantasy world unless the magic is active things will revert to a natural state, based on winds, rains, temperature and etc..
