Trying to determine Anglo-Saxon only (no Norman invasion) alternative names for Kings and Queens of England.
First off we Harold lives so we start with him.

Then his children by his first wife: Godwin, Edmund, Magnus, Gunhild, and Gytha<BR>
His children by a second wife:  Harold and Ulf.<BR>
His parents: Godwin and Gytha.<BR>
His brothers and sister: Sweyn, Tostig, Gyrth, Leofwine and Edith.<BR>

Harold is proclaimed king after his brother in law Edward the Confessor dies.
Harold Hardrada and Tostig Godwinson (King Harold's brother) invade England and are defeated. Tostig is killed. His name will never be used again since it envokes the traitor.
At the battle of Hastings Lofwine and Gyrth are killed (so is the invader William which is Norman French and will never be used).

Harold's son Godwin inherits the throne after hi father unless something happens. Unfortunatly Godwin died in obscurity in Ireland in real life so we have no idea if he had children or who they were. So we have 2 kings, Harold and Godwin then a problem.
