Trying near the same area as the previous two forts. Same setup, Iron, Silver, Zinc, Tin, Gold, AL, Flux. Main biomes is heavily forest and calm. The northern edge is the Oceans of Flimsiness an evil ocean. Both have little soil and a light aquifer.

Using map from Legends Browser not Legends Viewer because Legends viewer is crashing on the latest xml from this world.

Chronicles

Year 210
Winter
There are 11 albatross corpses on embark. This is starting badly. Small hills to the north and east, a sinister saltwater sea to the north, and a small river to the west. Got the underground space dug and all animals but yaks inside when the albatross attacked. No good inside. Gate done but no mechanisms or lever. Dug some units horizontally to give more room for security later and built the initial outdoor walls larger.

Dug much more extensively than usual. Started bedrooms to left 7 levels from surface. Putting Wood and farms 2 levels down. Dug for yaks but need growth of fungus.

Year 211
Winter
Started kitchen. Drinkworks. First level of bedrooms and butchery.
Spring
Started on stoneworks. Things are going slow. Need migrants. Also need some trees chopped to build a depot.
Summer
4 migrants. That will be a lot of help. Butchering the yaks before something happens to them. Gemworks up. First traps set up. All items relocated below.
Fall
Albatross corpses flew in the main entrance and avoided the traps. They killed the carpenter. 3 more migrants. All of them are from previous forts.
Winter
Several wounded but no cloth. Rebuilding the surface with more security.

Spring
Entrance significantly improved but needs more work. Started digging exploratory shafts.
Summer
10 more migrants. Upper fortifications almost done. Started training militia. Lots of digging below, no metals found. Started making charcoal anyway. Found tetrahedrite.
Fall
Barely have anything to trade. 9 more migrants
Winter
Dwarves are wasting time moving blocks from below to above and then back down. Have a dead thrall at the entrance. No signs of fighting. Militia is not training.

Winter
Traded some crap to the elves for some zoo animals. 20 migrants, thankfully already have extra beds. The farmers want a guild hall.

Summer
8 more migrants. 58 total dwarves now. Denomination of Covering wants a temple. Building them a large silver furnished temple. Completed the Farmers Guildhall. Ran out of wood so running out of charcoal. Sent more out to cut and burn. Built an inn the Door-Mouth of Constructs outside the wall. Autumn
Tavern is almost done. 9 more migrants. The Tempe is up and running as is the tavern. Started work on a well from the aquifer. Ran out of coal again. Winter
Completed excessive bedrooms.

Year 214
Spring
Migrants keep arriving. 22 this time. Will shift military to only military. Reached the caverns. Above that several more layers with Tetrahedrite. Found the flux layer. Managed to acquire two black mambas from the elves. Finally found gold. Too much pressure. Flooded the hospital corridor when trying to refill the well. Started building library and small temples
Summer
The goblins have finally come. Almost didn't get the rear gate close because no one was in a burrow including the gate. There are open spaces above the first rooms. Security is a bust. Than the gods its a few goblins not the undead. Two goblins met their death in the lower defenses, the rest are scattered across the map. Goblins eliminated, no dwarf losses. Must floor in the area in front of the gate. Craftdwarves want a guildhall. Switched everyone to wood hauling for a while to build up stocks after using a lot of wood to floor over the open sections outside the fort. Then to plant gathering. A Forgotten Beast Cona Ethorithi, an 3 eyed ant lion is in the caverns. Has noxious secretions to might just crush it if it becomes a problem. Took a holiday and assigned everyone all labors, so 70% went fishing. Dropped fishing and finished out the month.
Fall
1 migrant, a fisherman. Ran out of fuel again. Going to burn down the forest. Built 3 wood furnaces out doors. Will task multiple dwarves to make fuel. Already built a stockpile of wood.
Winter
Goblins are back. A massive army at lest 81 including beak dogs and trolls. Lost one dwarf because he was stupidly outside in the main advance of the goblins. Traps eliminated most the goblins. 4 trolls took up in the tavern and will have to be cleared out. Overall seems like we lost some cats and dogs other than the couple of idiots.

Year 215
Spring
Built a library. Miner and engraver guildhalls are asked for. Farmers want a bigger one. The reason we have no poults is because there were two doors to the turkeys and one was unlocked.
Summer
An Ettin has come. Its killed by the human merchant guard. No migrants, but we are at 91 and thats all i ant anyway. Finally struck Hematite way down possibly underneath the first cavern. Switched from tetrahedrite smelting to steel. Its 42 z-levels from the metalworks to the hemetite mine. Going to build a minecart track.
Fall
Minecart route dug. Now need to carve. It will bypass any cavern security, need to think about that. FB Kurik Rerithuker is in the caverns a blob of salt with wings. Hope I have sealed the cavern properly. It went away without problems. Goblins are back. Two dwarves foolishly leave the fort to kill a troll only to be swamped by the 150+ others than came. At least they took 2 trolls and Ogress and a goblin with them. A Farmer took it upon himself to draw the ogres into the trap system and paid with his life. An ogre made it to the courtyard, sent the Helmed Halls out to met it. A carpenter decided to defend the trap bridge after that. He fell onto the spikes but was able to return to the fort. The Goblins and Beak dogs retreated a this point leaving us to kill the Ogres and trolls.

Still cleaning up when a Tundra Titan Enia Alinomame shows up. A quadruped of topazolite with webs. It rushed the fort and got into the inner citadel before we could gets gates closed. Dwarves are trapped outside the citadel as well as below. It killed the tortoise. Let in in so we could fire the ballista at it. Trapped it in as small an area as possible in front of the ballista and will now shoot it to death. Two of the guys on the surface are starving. After hitting it three times could no longer load the ballista because it was scaring the workers off. Dug around it and freed the Dwarves trapped above. Have to rework defenses but now have a trapped webbing Titan.
Winter
The Elves brought us two tigers to go with the jaguar and cougars. Also another black mamba female. Turkeys are dying of old age. Carved the walls holding the titan then stationed the crossbowmen there to shoot at it. They are doing better than the ballista. Had to stop collecting webs from the titan was taking up too much time.

Spring
Built around the titan. Need the dwarves to stop trying to reload the ballista
Summer
Screwed up the first mine shaft dig. Starting over. A swordfish corpse on the surface, walking around. Sent the military after it. Saw the regular patrol in the citadel firing which is good. Going to build some archery towers. Got all the dead body parts out of the internal refuse pile just in case a necromancer shows up.
Fall
As usual minecart shaft is a problem. Caverns in the way and slow the building. The goblins just haven't learned and are back. 140+ of them including lots of trolls. Killed on miner who stayed in the tavern too long. The goblins are really pressing the main gate this time,and dying in droves. Released the titan on some of them. I think there are some holes in the caverns, I've got an undead dwarf down there along with some other undead. Tundra titan is trapped in the main entrance hall now, cutting off the citadel again. Trolls are camping the tavern. 83 dead goblins and trolls so far. There is another open space from the surface a single troll got in. Had to kill the Titan to try and contain it and storm the tavern. Lost 18 Dwarves in total. All 140 some invaders killed. Switched everyone to Recovery for a massive cleanup. Commissioned a gold statue of Enina Alinomame Wimo.

Individuals were going into the caverns who god knows what reason. Got killed, Others followed to recover them. Encountered a giant cave spider. Sent the military to kill it thinking 30 dwarves could handle it. No many died. Retreated left 15 dead along with much good equipment. Our own dead are also resurrecting down there.
Winter
Undead are in the halls. Got all the entrances closed. Down to 26.

Mistakes were made. Not prepared to defend against and contain a webbing Titan. Opening the wrong gate and letting the Goblins into the lower defenses instead of smashing them. Placing the military to close to the Titan when trying to seal it back up so they rushed it. Not sealing the caverns off. Not forbidding the caverns when recovering. Attacking the Giant spider. Working multiple construction projects at far ends of the fort at once. Not having the caverns properly hotkeyed.

Good things: the traps at the entrance are amazing. Didn't even lose the guard dog at the end of the falling bridge.

Undead in the caverns are killing the frame rate, its hovering less than 10fps. Undead were not the fps problem. Tagged a lot of poults for butchering, and did some traffic management. The management raised it up to about 40 and made it playable again. Making the minecart shaft low priority raised it to 70.

Year 217
Spring
The world has passed into the Second age of Legends.

F Finally have started rebuilding the stuff the trolls destroyed, Trade depot, be hives, wood furnaces. also paving over newer underground digs and reworking inner defenses so those in the citadel wont be trapped. ore poults hatched back to 7 fps. No migrants, we really needed them. Something in the caverns is the FPS problem. It comes and goes and isn't related to killing or the traffic (but those might be helping)
Summer
Stopped all military training not enough work is getting done. Looks like the well overflowed when filling, hospital floor is wet. No migrants. Giving the humans all the large size troll cloths clogging the stores. No one is placing coffins, there are still dead out there. Switched everyone back to recovery. Finally stopped filling coffins and all ghost laid to rest.
Fall
Poults just wont stop hatching. Cant butcher them fast enough to keep up and no one is harvesting eggs. There are still troll bodies in the entrances. 8 migrants. Bought some blade wed seeds, need to start dyeing.
Winter
Down in the caverns a FB Disuth Lidod a enormous humanoid composed of flam. It has branching antennae and its has a bloated body. Turns out it breathes fire too. Might need to up the cavern defenses. FB did clear out all the undead parts down there. I think there is still a way into the caverns one of the cloth guild is collecting webs

Year 218
Spring
Webs are safe, must be left over from something in the mines we killed. Building a mass pit to dump goblins into the caverns, about a 5 level drop but then they have to deal with the fire breathing FB. 19 migrants. Things will really get done now. Elves brought us a male tiger to go with the female. Hopefully will be able to breed them. Yea the well is defiantly overflowing. Will build an overflow are from its second level into some unused mine space. Trained a tiger for war, know some stuff about tigers now. A were-lizard, dies in the entrance. Three possible infected, one dead. Just as the were-lizard dies the Capitan of the guard stars to kill other dwarves. A Farmer goes nuts too. Captain calms down. Putting the possibly infected in with the tigers. The outdoorsman seems to injured to make it there, he has lost the ability to stand OW Lolo.
Summer
Human merchants arrive 3 days before the transformation day. Lolo recovers enough to move and for some reason moved further from the fort but the merchants are between him and the door. High hopes they kill him if he transforms. put everyone on alert and sealed the fort anyway. Merchants kill Lolo, none one else is infected. Built an overflow and drain the hospital of water, shouldn't flood again. Miasma in the lower defenses, still not everything from the last goblin incursion is clean. Designating more recovery. 7 more migrants, including one each high master;legendary stonecrafer, dyer and leatherworker.
Fall
Digging a number of small temples to meet worship needs. Cant seem to get rid of all the large troll junk, just cant carry it to the merchants fast enough. 7 more migrants. A were-marmot has come. Again merchants kill it quickly. Only one possible infection. OW-Kiv

Winter
One of the human merchants still outside transformed into a were-marmot. So did Ow-Kiv. Killed him. Several dead, one possibly infected. The captain of the guard was scratched on the eyelid, is it enough to worry about? Ablel is the only one who turns and he is in the hospital. Transferred him to the smasher.

Year 219
Spring
Built a mass put but no one will carry the goblins down there. There are 5 tiger cubs. Might replace the dogs with tigers. Somehow we acquired a black bear. Sent the Steel Axes to explore and loot the old fort of Paintedspider. Built some quires and now the library is getting used. The Silver Axes returned from Painted spider with 8 artifacts. 28 migrants this season. Looked back, we only have one of the original dwarves left alive, a miner. Sending two steel squads to raid the goblins. Established a second crossbowmen squad. More tiger cubs. Going to have to cull them or the dogs
Summer
Seven more migrants. Up to 67 now. Got rid of the hundreds of figurines and most the large stuff. Manager doesn't work, and you cant replace him while he is on a raid. Stole some treasure fro the goblins an returned.
Fall
Communion of Dyes wants a temple, the worship Erib the Silvery Rocks. The Goblins are back. Rebuilding the inner wall in stone so some crossbowmen aren't defended from goblin archers. Goblins are also crossing the moat by climbing the side of the wall. The goblins retreat, leaving the trolls as usual. Still hunting down trolls when a FB Shedim Othashshoduk arrives. An enormous one-eyed wasp w poison sting. This may be a problem some open hatched into the caverns. Nope hatches are good. Closing all the mine gates just in case. The FBs fight and Shedim loses. Over 20 dead from the goblin raid mainly because of the missing walls. Crossbowmen were jumping down into fire and goblins crossing over. Also lost a number running outside the fort to pick up equipment. i

Armory stockpiles don't seem to be working properly. So many tiger cubs. Started putting burials in the resurrecting area. Corpses are coming alive.
Winter
Spent the hole season cleaning. Organizing stockpiles and building new outer defenses further out.

Spring

Summer
Dumped a lot of goblinite cloths on the humans. Completed all out towers including one that creates a crossfire with the gate. Outer walls are done for a while. Added another gate to possibly protect the tavern
Fall
The flaming FB isn't down there anymore guess he got tired of waiting. Time to fix things down there. Ran out of flux. Building a bigger dining room.
Winter
Sealing off a large area i in the caverns. Had to kill a troll. Its so far down. Standardized what stone masons were using

Vicious cycle of death in the caverns. Kill one troll in the resurrecting part, he rises, troll corpse kills a dwarf, he rises, dwarf corpse kills a dwarf....

My mambas are dying, they never laid eggs. More migrants means we are up yo 85 dwarves. Going to build only military squad for raiding. Bought a Rhino. Sending 40 dwarves to demand tribute from the goblins at Gorecracked the Strong Holes
Summer
Still having problems pitting. Had to turn on dwarves collect animals and at least now they move the cages. There is like 10 dwarves worth of stuff down there in the caverns to be picked up. Its taking forever. A werepig has come. Many of the the military are still away. Werepig killed 4 dwarves some 4 human guards, and then drowned in the pond as a human. Once possible infected. Should have been no one but dwarves are complete morons and kept charging it one by one with no weapons. Everyone of them had plenty of time to run. Black Mambas hatched! Raiders are back. The report is empty. There is a pile of stuff on th edge of the map i think its from the dead. More migrants. Another FB Uxu a blob of flame has come. This one has wings.
Fall
Morons wont dig above the FB to drop rock on it despite it being 3 levels above the FB and it sitting still. More migrants. Added another raider squad. Ran out of fuel again. Sending the extra squads to occupy the goblin holding. Hatched 23 mambas. i
Winter
The first tigers have reached adulthood. Training them. Also training the Rhino. Up to 61 mambas. Goblins are back again. Rather than coming through the gates they found away under the all near the tavern, (into an unsecured area anyway), just meant we got to shot them longer. Defense would be much better if morons didn't decide to run into the goblins to change equipment mid fight. Lost over half the crossbowmen because they are idiots,going to get bolts they should had already. Down to 4 FPS. Attack ruined building the new airlocked trade depot, area was in an aquifer and flooded while fighting. Have to start over somewhere else. Used DFhack to kill 84 Black Mamabas, FPS jumped to 30+ and playable. Everyone spent the rest of the year on recovery.

Elven caravan again. Don't care, too much to clean up. Craftdwarves want a guildhall

Still cleaning up. Have switched to some other jobs for a while but its still a mess. FB Thudel. A gigantic 3-eyed serpent. Deadly blood. Eyes glow blue and has a curling trunk and bloated body. Returned everyone to normal work before fall. Most of new Trade depot dug but bridges not in place. Ran out of coal again

They want to elevate us to a barony. New depot is done too late to use. A Minotaur has come. The two squads have finally finished! They conquered the Kin of Immortality and took over Gorecracked the Strong Holes. Renamed the Group The Even Diamonds. Didn't get a chance to get the Minotaur, the trade caravan did him him really quickly. Put smithing on hold to build up a reserve of fuel. Using smiths to haul

A Mason is made a the Baron. Going to open the caverns and take on the FBs. Expect to go badly. Bringing down al the war dogs and war tigers. Uxu went down like a chump. Killed by one volley from the crossbowmen before it even got into melee range. Not even sure thats worth a statue. He did take out the cavern gate. Working on rose gold furnishings for the baron. Returned to normal train/defend cycle

Had to kill a walking blacktip shark corpse on the surface. They don't like the fact we cut down so many trees. F them w need fuel. Elves wont trade either. Looks like we are going to war. 20 more migrants. Guess who are going to be solider?
Summer
New trade depot isn't so good. Dwarves are walking around the whole fort to get goblets from it. Ran out of wood and charcoal again. The elves are really gong to be pissed. Humans sent a diplomat. Sending the new guys to pillage the Dark Goblin Pits of Territories. Immediately after the leave 5 new migrants come. Game crashed.

Restart after crash: Opening a new gate in the north wall to facility colleciton of wood. Going to cut down the whole forest before the elves come back. Game crashed agin just after trading.

Due to crashes in game and with legends viewer and FPS retirng fort. Made a backup first.
