As far as posible from Machine fortress as before. The Copperhill, a tropical shrubland, surronded by Haunted lands.

  • CopperHill: Wilderness Woodland with Sand, some soil, shallow & Deep metals, flux stone
  • The Field of Slivers. Haunted shurbland, sand, soil, deep metals, flux.

    Year 316
    Autumn
    Arrived in a lightly treed shurbland. Multiple types of trees and bushes. Red sand. A low plataeu covers most the area to the S and E. There are webs. The area is supposed toi be haunted but other than the webs it seems pretty docile.

    Winter
    Dig started. Citidel first floor nearly complete. Only jackels and owls seen. Discovered the caverns only eight levels down from the surface. A speardwarf is visiting despite the fact we have no locations. The speardwarf wants to go eradicate monsters in the caverns. Go forth dude. He is soon followed by any others.

    Year 317
    Spring
    Lots of adventurers have arrived. There are rhinos out there. We concoct a plan to catch and train them. An eerie red cloud to the south. No idea what it does.

    Summer
    The well is almost done, it gets water from the caverns. The Temple is keeping the adventerers quiet when off duty. The kitchens and residences are dug. There is a drink crisis. The well isn't quite done and the water on surface dried up. The water in the Caverns is inaccessible. Monster hunters aren't doing any good. They let a draltha into the resdence halls and killed dog. Migrants have arrived, just 3. A werelephant also arrives. Since the outer walls are not done it comes right in. The Wereelpant destroyed and archery target then left, it sat at the open gate for a while.

    Autumn
    The caravan arrived and went right into the gloom witch turned half of it to some thrall opposed to life. We sent out our 2 man militia, and watched one get slaughteed. The other was in the hospital already. Thankfully the undead? seemed to die on thier own soon. Revising burrows so no one else is exposed. A Giant cave spider in the hall. Its webbing everything up. Mercenaries useless.

    More migrants. 11 this time. Clouds keep coming surface is a problem. The Wereelepahnt is back. We are better prepared this time.

    Winter
    Walling in some of the caverns for the animals. Safer than the surface. Looting the caravan site. Building a tunnel all the way out there another entrance so surface travel doesn't happen. There is no wind for a windmill A farmer got caught in the gloom. Killed most the animals, and half the fort. 5 others are wounded. stopped tring to build the wall in stone. Went back to wood to get it done.

    Year 318
    Spring
    Outer walls done. The wounded have recovered. Building a pit for all the cave dwellers we catch. More migrants, 21 of them, and they ran right into the cloud. And killed everyone else.
