Aquiferworks

The aquiferworks is a temporary location to provide basic functionality while an aquifer is pierced by the pump stack method.

    Inputs

  • Wood: For the waterwheels, screw pumps (corkscrews, pipes, blocks)
  • Stone: At least 2 mechanisms are needed for the pump stack, 3 more for a secure gate and lever.

    Outputs
    The works should not produce anything long term. The screw pumps can be disassembled after the aquifer is pierced and the components traded.

    Job Setup

  • Once dug build all the workshops out of wood not the stone which was brought by the wagon.
  • 1 chair (manager)
  • 7 beds (dorm/hospital)
  • 1 chest (hospital)
  • 1 table (hospital)
  • 3 mechanisms (gear assemblies)
  • 3 mechanisms (1 lever and its bridge connections)

    Start with assuming the aquifer is 2 layers. For more queue more of everything except the hatch.

    Post Dig
    The Carpenter shop/aquifer supplies area can be converted into a Woodworks. The mechanics shop disassembled and moved downstairs. The hospital/dorm can be left as a dorm for new migrants but the hospital should be moved downstairs. A mill can be built off the waterwheels. The Embarked Goods stockpile can be converted to a Trade Goods stockpile. This is also a good time to convert the level into a 3 gate defensive area forcing the enemy through a long series of traps.
