Cut 2 3/4" (70mm) hole slightly to rear of center in cover for mason feeder jar.

Elmore on making splits
• Splits are done at the end of Feb. Nightime 45 degrees, daytime 65 plus. If its too cold split will freeze.
• Find Queen. Leave frame she is on old hive. Move her by the wings to new hive Wait 3 days and add a new queen to the old hive. This mimics a swarm. Elmore on how to make splits.
• Dont put apiguard or thymol in a hive for a week before mating or ithe queens scent will come off during her mating flight. She will be unrecognized when she comes back and possibly killed by the hive. more
